Corn harvest is in full swing here in the Midwest and across the country. As you sit in the combine – do you ever wonder how much grain you’re leaving behind? We found a great video on Agweb.com, where¬†Missy Bauer, Farm Journal associate field agronomist, demonstrates an easy method for evaluating harvest losses. She says that farmers should aim to lose no more than 1 bu. per acre, as a general rule-of-thumb, and shares some tips on adjusting your combine settings if you are noticing a loss greater than that.
